The candlelit dining room and wood-fired oven at Shardana

Guildford · family-run since 2008

Family. Food. Friendship.

Handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza and live jazz, from a Sardinian family kitchen tucked behind the High Street. Unisciti a noi!

Our story

Three names. One family.

In 2005 we opened Al Vicolo, cooking our Mamma's Sardinian recipes with a contemporary touch. It became Blue Sardinia — a nod to our island, one of the world's blue zones, where people live longest. In 2008 came Shardana: the same family, a wider embrace of Italian tradition, and a wine list that pairs the classics with new discoveries.

Everything is still made the slow way — pasta rolled each morning, dough proved overnight, sauces that simmer while the room fills up. It's all about the big three: family, food and friendship.
